Frequently Asked Questions

AFTER THE INSPECTION

When Will I Receive My Inspection Report?

All RV inspections are booked online through our website.

Your completed RV inspection report will be delivered the same day as your inspection. You’ll receive an email from HomeGauge, the professional inspection reporting software we use, with a link to view your full report online.

Same-day delivery is part of our normal inspection process. The only exceptions would be extremely rare technical issues, such as a HomeGauge outage or loss of internet access that prevents us from uploading the report

What Does The Inspection Report Include?

Your RV inspection report is an interactive, detailed record of what we inspected and observed on the day of the inspection. It covers the RV from roof to undercarriage and includes the major systems, components, appliances, interior and exterior areas, and safety-related items that are present and accessible.

The report documents both items that are operating as expected and areas where concerns were observed, with written findings and typically 100–300 photos plus videos to help you understand what the inspector saw.

We also include interactive 360° photos that you can zoom and pan around. These give you a much broader view of areas such as the roof and undercarriage, where you may be able to spot things like potential leaks, road damage, or other conditions that aren’t as easy to see in a standard photo.

The result is more than a list of problems. It’s a detailed snapshot of the RV’s condition at the time of the inspection that you can use to make informed decisions about the purchase.

What Should I Do After I Receive My RV Inspection Report?

We recommend viewing the interactive report online rather than printing it. RV inspection reports can be quite long, and interactive features like videos and 360° photos are best viewed directly in the online report.

Your report begins with a summary of the findings categorized as Life Safety, Major, Minor, Notice/Comments, and Recommendations, which can help you understand the different types of concerns before diving into all of the details, photos and videos.

Once you’ve reviewed the report, please call us the same day if you have any questions. We dedicate the entire inspection day to you and your RV, including time after the report is delivered to help you understand what we found.

From there, consider which findings you want to Address, Adjust, or Accept before moving forward with the purchase.

How Do I Sign My Inspection Agreement So I Can View My Report?

Before you can view your completed inspection report, you’ll need to electronically sign your Inspection Agreement in HomeGauge.

When you log into your HomeGauge Customer Dashboard, look for the Signature Needed box and click View Agreement. Read the agreement, then:

  1. Click Agree beneath the agreement.
  2. Type your full name in the Signature field.
  3. Click the orange Sign Agreement(s) button.

Once the agreement has been signed, HomeGauge will confirm your signature and you’ll be able to access your inspection report. You’ll also receive a confirmation email.

If you have trouble signing, HomeGauge provides step-by-step instructions here: HomeGauge: Signing Your Inspection Agreement

Can I Call With Questions After Reading My Report?

Absolutely! Our reports are designed to be detailed and generally self-explanatory, but we know questions can still come up as you go through everything.

If you have questions, we recommend calling your inspector the same day you receive your report. Your inspector can answer questions about specific findings, photos, videos or anything else you’d like help understanding.

We’re happy to help you understand what we found so you can decide what you want to Address, Adjust, or Accept as you move forward with your purchase decision.

How Do I View, Save, Or Share My RV Inspection Report?

We recommend viewing the report online rather than printing it. RV inspection reports can be quite long, and a printed copy won’t include the interactive features that make the online report so useful.

The report will remain available in your HomeGauge Customer Dashboard, so you can return to the interactive version anytime. Simply log in, select Inspection Details, and open your report. You’ll continue to have access to all of the photos, videos and 360° images, and you can return later to create additional Create Request Lists (CRLs) if needed.

Your inspection was an investment to help you make an informed purchase decision, and the report represents what we observed on the day of the inspection. For those reasons, we recommend being selective about sharing the entire report.

If you do need to save a PDF or share the report with someone, HomeGauge gives you several ways to do that.

For current step-by-step directions, see HomeGauge: Printing, Saving, and Forwarding Your Report.

What Is The Create Request List (CRL)?

The Create Request List (CRL) is a HomeGauge tool that lets you select findings directly from your inspection report and create a separate list without manually copying and pasting items.

You can use your CRL to organize the items you want the seller or dealer to repair, address, or consider as part of a price adjustment or negotiation.

For step-by-step instructions on creating, editing, saving and sending a CRL, see HomeGauge: Create Request List.

Can I Use My RV Inspection Report To Negotiate Repairs Or The Purchase Price?

Absolutely. Your inspection report gives you documented findings, photos and videos that you can use when discussing repairs, price adjustments or other terms with the seller or dealer.

We provide the inspection findings, but what you ask for is ultimately your decision. Every RV, buyer and transaction is different, so there isn’t a universal list of items a seller must agree to fix.

This is where Address, Adjust, or Accept comes in: ask to have an issue addressed, negotiate an adjustment based on the finding, or accept it as part of the RV you’re purchasing. Your Create Request List (CRL) makes it easy to organize and share the items you decide to discuss.

How Do I Know If The Seller Actually Completed The Repairs?

If the dealer or seller agrees to address issues or make repairs after the inspection, don’t assume the original problem was corrected just because you receive a repair invoice or are told it’s been fixed.

Ask for proof of the completed repairs, such as photos or videos, repair orders, technician notes, or a quick video showing a repaired system or component operating. For some items, you may also be able to check the repair yourself when you return to see the RV.

Most importantly, verify the repairs before you take delivery or complete the purchase whenever possible, especially the items that mattered most to your purchase decision. Once the RV is yours, the process for getting issues addressed may be very different.

Will An RV Inspection Guarantee There Won'T Be Future Problems?

An RV inspection provides a snapshot of the RV’s condition on the day of the inspection. We inspect and operate accessible systems and components under the conditions available to us that day, but even a thorough inspection can’t predict every issue that may come up in the future.

An inspection also isn’t the same as actually living or traveling in the RV. We’re not taking showers, preparing meals, spending the night, or driving or towing the RV down the road. Some issues may only show up with extended use, changing conditions, or once you’re using the RV the way you plan to use it.

Our goal is to give you as much information as possible about the RV’s current condition so you can make a more informed purchase decision.

What If I Decide Not To Buy The RV?

Walking away is sometimes an outcome of an RV inspection. The RV tells its own story. Our job is to document what we find and put the pieces together so you can see the RV as a whole, not just as a list of individual findings.

Sometimes that bigger picture changes how you feel about the RV, the deal, or what you’re willing to take on. Discovering significant concerns before the purchase could also save you tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars in unexpected repairs or from simply buying the wrong RV for you.

Ultimately, the inspection did exactly what it was meant to do: give you better information before you made a much bigger investment.
